Red Sauce Cheese Macaroni Recipe || How To Make Cheese Macaroni At Home || Indian Style Red Sauce Cheese Macaroni (Pasta) || Indian Style Recipes
Indian Style Macaroni is a desi pasta with some Indian spices (Punjabi Tadka). This is super delicious and kid’s friendly. Boiled macaroni tossed with vegetables and spices, ready to serve hot. A fusion of Italian pasta with Punjabi tadka 😊
Let’s make some Indian Style Pasta: Note the ingredients:
Ingredients
• 2 Cups of elbow macaroni
• 1 tsp salt
• 3 cups water
• 2 tablespoons oil (can use sunflower oil or olive oil)
• 2 medium onions, finely chopped
• 3 medium tomatoes or 180 grams tomatoes
• Finely chopped Capsicum (you can use mix vegetables like red & yellow bell peppers, carrots, green beans, etc)
• ½ cup of Corns
• ¼ tsp black pepper powder
• ½ tbsp Oregano or mix herbs
• ½ tbsp Chilli flakes
• 2 tbsp Pasta sauce
• 2-3 tbsp Mayonnaise
• salt as per taste
• slices of cheese (you can use mozzarella, cheese cubes, etc)
Method
Cooking Macaroni
1. In a pan, heat 3 cups water.
2. Add 2 tbsp oil and ½ teaspoon salt. Bring it to a boil.
3. Add macaroni (125 grams macaroni). stir with a fork.
4. Begin to cook macaroni on medium to high flame till they are al dente (cooked so as to be still firm when bitten)
5. Drain all the water and keep cooked macaroni aside.
Cooking vegetables
1. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a pan. Lower the flame..
2. Next, add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, corns & capsicum.
3. Saute till vegetable softened.
4. Lower the flame and then add all the spice powders (Oregano, Chilli flakes).
5. Mix and sauté, Now add pasta sauce 2 tbsp.
6. Mix well. Add Mayonnaise 2-3 tbsp.
7. On a medium-low to medium flame, mix sauce and mayonnaise simmer till the vegetables are cooked. In between do check and if the gravy is very thick you can add a little bit of water.
8. Once the vegetables are cooked and tender, add the cooked macaroni.
10. Mix well and cook for a few more minutes till all the water is absorbed. Stir occasionally.
11. Add cheese and mix well until cheese melts and get well coated. Check the seasonings and add more salt or herbs if required.
Serve macaroni hot. You can top with some grated cheddar or vegetarian parmesan cheese or cream before serving.
