Gobi Manchurian || Gobi Manchurian Recipe || How To Make Gobi Manchurian At Home || गोभी मंचूरियन| Street Style Crispy Gobi Manchurian recipe || Indochinese Crispy Gobi Manchurian
Gobi Manchurian is a popular Indo Chinese appetizer made with cauliflower (Gobi), cornflour, soya sauce, vinegar, chilli sauce, ginger & garlic. Very easy to cook at home with simple and readily available ingredients.
Let’s get started. For Gobi Manchurian, you need the following ingredients:
INGREDIENTS
FOR BOILING:
- 4 cups of water
- ½ tsp salt
- florets gobi / cauliflower
FOR BATTER:
- 1 cup maida / plain flour
- ½ cup cornflour
- ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
- ½ tsp Garam Masala
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup of water
- oil for deep frying
FOR MANCHURIAN SAUCE:
- 4 tsp oil
- 2 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1-inch ginger, finely chopped
- 1 green chilli, Chopped
- ¼ onion, finely chopped
- ¼ cup spring onion, chopped
- ½ capsicum, cube
- 2 tbsp tomato sauce
- 1 tsp green chilli sauce
- 2 tsp vinegar
- 2 tsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp Schezwan sauce
- ¼ tsp salt
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Wash the cauliflower and cut into pieces.
2. Take a pan or kadhai, boil 4 cups of water with ½ tsp salt. Put the florets into boiling water for some time.
3. Boil for 2 minutes to blanch gobi. do not overcook gobi.
4. Drain off the water and pour 1 cup of ice-cold water to stop cooking. Soak the access water with a dry cloth and keep aside.
5. Now prepare batter by taking ¾ cup maida and ¼ cup cornflour.
6. Also add ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp garam masala, ½ ts black pepper and ¼ tsp salt
7. Prepare a lump free smooth batter adding ½ cup water.
8. Add in the blanched Gobi and dip completely. Coat them well.
9. Deep fry in hot oil. you can also shallow fry or bake for a more healthy option. stir in between and fry till they turn golden brown
10. Drain off the Gobi over a kitchen towel to remove excess oil. keep aside.
11. Take a large Kadai heat 4 tsp oil and saute 2 clove garlic, 1-inch ginger and 1 green chilli on high flame.
12. Saute and add 1 sliced onion and 2 tbsp spring onion on high flame. Add ½ capsicum and continue to saute till they slightly change colour.
13. Now add 2-3 tbsp tomato sauce, 1 tsp chilli sauce, 2 tsp vinegar, 2 tsp soya sauce, 1 tbsp schezwan sauce and salt to taste.
14. mix well and saute for a minute.
15. Add fried Gobi.
16. mix gently making sure the sauce has coated well uniformly.
finally, transfer Gobi Manchurian to a serving bowl/plate and garnish with chopped spring onions green. Serve with fried rice or have as snacks.
Tip**: If the curry is thin then you can add cornflour slurry (to prepare cornflour water – mix 1 tsp of cornflour with ¼ cup of water) to thicken the gravy.
